Just starting to look into electric guitar kits. Seems pretty interesting and may be pretty fun.

Curious how many people actually order those guitar kits? How many people actually like what comes out of it? How many people would do it again etc.

I can only seem to find one company that really makes guitar kits. Torres I think it was called. Does any one have information on other guitar kit dealers that I would also be able to look at? Thanks a lot, Eric

Warmoth has all the bits and pieces for DIY electric guitars. Stew Mac has acoustic kits.

I think Carvin has kits. You can check on their site or get their catalog to see what they have.

I bought a kit from Carvin. VERY good guitar.

saga has some inexpensive kits ...... one time i was going to build a saga kit .......... instead i ordered all the parts i needed on line from various vender's .... it cost more but i think in the end i have a better guitar than i could have got from a kit ........

Yea I kind of imagined that would be the case. Im sure you still saved some money the way you did it. I'm kind of trying to stay on the inexpensive route for my next guitar.

The saga body's look cool but I'm a bit skeptical of the electronics.

I'm gonna check out the carvins. Sounds like fun.

If your trying to save money by building from parts your unlikely to be successful. There are many good reasons to build a kit guitar but saving cash is really not one of them.

True. If you price out components at Warmoth, you'll find that it's not at all cheap to build your own. If you have Warmoth finish your neck and body, it really starts getting expensive.
