hello, I'd like to hear some comments on this demo of an instrumental gutar song I wrote. Any comments I can take into consideration for re-recording it later will be appreciated, as this is a rough mix....

thanks,

Here's a link to the song, simply called, "Plugged In"

Hey MetalAxeman,

I love it, graet playing, great guitar sound!
Bring the guitars up in the mix and a slight boost of 1 or 2 dB in the mids. Nice guitar harmonies, were they tracked seperately or did you use a harmonizer?

The drums are a tad flat, maybe a boost in the mids as well to make them more lively!

This is going to be a great tune!

Gorty :)

The guitar playing is A7X tasty! The whole mix is very small sounding though. The bottom is not really there other than the thump on the kick. I'd say to a/b this with a cd you like and see how different it is and see what you can do to close the gap.

Great playing though!

thanks for the suggestions, I will keep that in mind, and I agree the drums werent properly EQd...

I didn't use a harmonizer on the guitars, I tracked em seperatly.

Nice work on the harmonies with the guitars, it can be very tricky getting that right when tracking seperate tracks for the guitar harmonies!...You have executed this well!

Excellent playing, wow :D
Mixwise, I'd say it sounds thin. Sounds like you need a lot of bass added in there. Maybe meat up the drums some too. Otherwise, the guitar playing is excellent... good stuff ;)

My ears agree with the other guys, the bottom end is really lacking - and I don't think there's a bass guitar in there - that would really help things down there, and make the kick a bit more prominent - by that I mean so that the hit is heard, at the moment its kinda a mush of bass coming out.

The guitars are great though, very good! Just sort out that low end!

Thanks for the suggestions and comments.

I will take it all into consideration as I record this newer song Im working on.
It has more of abluesy vibe to it, and yes, hopefully the bass guitar tracks WILL make it have more life down there!!!!!

thanks.....
