I just recorded this track in a studio yesterday. It's not mixed yet just some basic panning, levels and stock effects, not enough time for mixing (EQ and proper effects) and mastering yet. Anyway, I'd appreciate some feedback. It's a fairly heavy metal instrumental with lots of shred runs and fast solos. Hope you like it! http://mp3unsigned.com/Showband.asp?id=4890

great production; very clean playing (especially the arppegios). dig the samples.

Nice playing. Can't say much else, but nice.....I really enjoyed it.

Thanks guys, I realise it's probably not everyones cup of tea:-) At least I'm headed in the right direction re the playing and overall sound though! The samples are from the original "Night of The Living Dead" (bw version), I think they work well to create a story of sorts.

Well, Night of the Living Dead is one of the three greatest movies of all time so I couldn't avoid listening to this.

That's a great screaming guitar wail after the second VO! Perfect.

Nice playing and arrangement. Maybe the streamed file is a little lacking in transient detail, but hell, that goes along with the aesthetic of B&W classic horror movie. It'd be nice to hear this as a higher resolution mp3.

I dunno. You made me wait a long time for thematic development, and then just when that got interesting, the shred started too. It made the track unbalanced. Maybe next time move the shred earlier, over the repetitive theme in the beginning, and that way the more harmonically interesting section won't have to compete for attention.

Don't mind mshilarious. :D He's always trying to be too intellektual. :D

I can't wait to hear the Return of the Living Dead done this way but the damn thing's still copyrighted... lines like, "Send more paramedics" and, "Darlin', I love you for your brain."

really great sound on the kit - very tight, good sonic placement in the eq spectrum. sounds like the studio has a good drum setup.

overall very tight playing.

on my speakers here (yamaha biamped) the bass floods quite often. don't know if you hear that...

as for the "proper effects," i personally really like my metal dry...

great stuff
