Guitar heads and cabs

I was just wondering about the differences when matching a guitar head to a cabinet. For example, I currently have a 100W tube head and it is paired with a 100W cab (4x12 @ 8ohm). Would it bad to pair it with lets say, a 300W half cab?? Just wondering. Hope this isn't a stupid question, just seems like the better cabs have higher wattage ratings.

nope..just as long as the cab has the same or more wattage as the head and the ohms match up...doesn't matter how high the watts are in the cab
