Is it safe to use my Digitech GNX3 (Guitar Multieffects/Modeler) with a Keyboard Synth such as the Korg MS 2000?

Meaning that the Korg MS2000 won't fry my GNX3.

I want to use the GNX3's delay models with a synth.

Should be. Ram it in there and find out. If the processor has a line in use that instead. If not, just start out with the synth volume low so you don't overload the guitar input.

Thanks. So the synth is putting the same type of signal output level as a guitar's pickups would?

I actually tried it once for about 5 min., & everything was fine (knock on wood), but I want to make sure I am not doing any long term damage to my effects processor.

The type of signal is the same from the guitar and synth (electrical voltage). The levels are different. That is one reason there are input level controls, so instruments with different output levels can interface with the same piece of gear. The synth can probably put out a higher level than a guitar, so you adjust the input of the processor to keep it from being clipped and distorting.

BTW, guitars have widely varying levels as well, single coil vs. humbucker, active vs. passive pick-ups. Input level needs to be optimized for each different instrument.

I've run my Korg PA80 into my GNX3 without any problems. It was not for the effects but for recording on the Gnx. The only problem is that it's a mono input unless you DI the Mic Input.
