Why you gotta be so mean?
I have a pretty nice tube guitar head Laney GHL50 but no tube pre for vocals. I was wondering would it be bad to run my LDC into a solidstate pre and then into the amp and run the line out to my interface? Would it ruin the amp? Has anyone ever tried this? What did you come up with?

Thanks,

Your amp probably isn't designed to take the line level signal from the solid state preamp, so I don't think I'd try it. I run high impedance output microphones directly into amps, but only to get the sound to go through the speaker (like a harmonica). Beyond that, I've never had any luck with line outs on amps, but I'm not familiar with that amp. On any of mine, I'm sure it would sound horrible.

What he says...

You may have an interesting "effect" vocal... but certainly not a traditional "tube" preamp sound
