Mixing and Mastering.
What is wrong with this mix?
I just cant seem to get the lo ens right on my masters.
The lo end is definetly booming and rumbling at times, i only found this out when i listened to it on a number of stereos as i am mastering with headphones!!
Is the rumbling because the bass guitar is too loud?
Did i add too much lo end at mastering
or did i add too much at 120Hz area to the bass guitar at mix down.
I know this might be hard to work out but any comments on the boomy lo end would be very helpfull. Its buging me sooo much ahh!

lets see......
tame some of the hi's maby it's a mid problem?) in the clean gits, the sound is a little plunky? needs to be a little fuller
less gain on distorted gits
i think thare are some compression issues mostly on the distorted gits but other places as well
(just a guess)

loose the compression all around and start again

not sure about the low problems, but it's probably a combo of things
you probably (like me) don't have a pair of monitors with stellar sub responce

Cheers for the reply Giraffe.
Yeah i am only using HD200 sennheiser headphones for mastering so i cant judge the lo or high end, but i feel the mids are fine.
I only used slight compression on the guitars to tame the odd peak. I used compression on the bass guitar. I didnt however use any compression when i was mastering though as i dont like using software for matering compression, i would rather like to use analogue outboard compression if i had the chance.
I think the clean guitars have a nice tone, maybe not too thick but i like that.
The distorted guitars only have about 50% distortion on them, alot less than if i was playing a gig.
I recorded the vox last night and i will mix and remaster and then post again in about a week or so.
Cheers.
