Just checked my pair... one is fairly flush although slightly uneven, the other is pretty smashed... definitely more than a dimple. :(
How did I not notice that before? Ugh!

mine has the dent on top too. its not as perfect round as yours and not as deep but now that you mention it it looks like crap. i guess im gonna have to smooth it out with a dowel or drum stick pushing from the inside. i also had to take mine apart to fix the switches. they didnt move at all. i had to re-center things and screw it back together all even and then it was fine. i did get one DOA - 73 mic pre. it did power up but most of the led lights are not working and it wont pass sound. it even had a piece of tape on it with chinese writing. i guess it failed inspection but they decided to shipped it any way.

My recollection is that Chance ordered extras to address any DOAs. You might want to post to his attention and find out when he can deal with it. I expect that he will want to get all the shipping done first then address QC issues.

I've been watching the PSW board and nothing over there yet on the PC board pricing. I'm wanting to get my hands on a 1200 and then do the mods. No luck there, either. Oh! I did get my shipping notice from FedEx though. New Years Eve delivery! Whoo-hoo!

LOL I bet that'd be confusing if you didn't know that there is an Ontario in California (CA), not only in Canada (CA).

I've emailed a few times about ACM3 traffos as well. Nobody answering.
 
My 1200 is not dented.Checked after reading these posts.I personally don't like the low cut at all...makes the mic sound thin as stated.The switches work fine without issue so I must have gotten lucky.My ACMP 84 is fine also..no noise issues.
I've been playing with the 1200 through my ART MPA Gold preamp and getting really great results.As a matter of fact I like the ART so much I ordered another to use with the 6802's I have.
I'm recording over the holidays and am going to run the snare into an Audix i5 through the 84 and then into a Yamaha GC2020 compressor/limiter.
I've been tinkering with this combination but I really need a drummer over so I can work the dials.
I finally landed a great sounding 50's vintage Ludwig wood snare and am really looking forward to hearing how my new mics and pre's work on the full drumkit.

One of the best chains I've come up with so far is a Telecaster through a 66 Fender blackface bassman into a 4 12 bassman cab-Cascade fathead ribbon into the 84 and very little EQ.
That combination for me just shimmers with harmonics and dynamics.
On playback even though it's a mono signal panned dead center you could swear it is a stereo recording.

Oops, I never knew that. I live on the east coast and never heard of it before.

My credit card statement said Ontario, CA and I thought maybe something was charged from Canada. Now it all makes sense.

Does the top of your 1200 have a slight indentation?

I'm not too worried about it but what makes me question it is that it's not exactly centered... which makes me think it was Bent or pushed in a tad... Hopefully it happened before it was assembled.

The half of my order for a friend arrived today, One is indented, one is very slightly indented. Both seem to work fine so far

However when taking the bottom off one of the mics, it was quite difficult to unscrew. I tried the other and it came off very easily. I switched the bottoms of the mics, and they both went back on easily. Odd

It is quite possible that it simply had a burr in the threads. Maybe it fell out when you unscrewed it, then all was fine. Who knows? That could happen on any mic.

When I swap the bottoms of the mics back, one doesn't go back on. It's nothing major, I'm just reporting what I find :)

I'm recording some shootouts at the moment to post in the next day or two for the 1200, 6802 and 583 mics
 
Still the red no's for me, although I see from the post above that some other folk here in Sydney already have their gear..... I'm biding my time patiently here... is it normal when checking the user console to see the date of the latest "news" sometime back in May 08? Has this just not been updated since then? I do refresh the page, but still red no's... ordered 1x1200 mic and 1x73 pre.
 
Hi Steve,

You are correct, that was the last news update that was put on the user console. These were to be the mass email info sent out to everyone ,but ever since the big AH rant, the guy who set up the site(Randy) has been so busy with his life(new job and some kind of family problems) he hasn't been around to help with any mass emails.
