So I've spent a few hours playing with my new gear.
Never liked 'honeymoon" posts but I am impressed.
The 1084 Preamp is wonderfully useful.I've never had an opportunity to use real Neve gear so there is no precendent for me.Found a load of useful EQ settings right off the bat.
My 1084 makes a plosive "pop" on the input stage gain control at about the mid point.
The lights come on and it's a bit loud.
Past that I let the ACM 1200 and 6802's burn in for almost a day before I actually cabled them into the patchbay.Played with the 1200 with my voice as I actually do sing and tinkered on a Martin acoustic.
Nice sheen on the guitar sound.I can understand the the spacious open air sound and timbre I imagine the true Neve pieces accomplish.
Haven't really tried the 6802's yet as they were purchased for drum overheads. They got hung there and burned in and I haven't pulled them out to test with anything yet.

Really like what I have heard so far but the real test will be months from now when I've gotten over the "new gear" excitement and start using these pieces where they seem to fit.

I invoiced a stack of orders on Friday night. It's now Sunday night and not one response. I wanted to give these to the shipper in the morning so they could ship and make room for more packing.

I was one of the last to receive my equipment on the previous Group Buy and am resigned to being one of the last on this one, despite assurances that it would be the other way around.

That said, I'm checking my console twice daily and will be paying immediately upon receiving a green "yes".

Rats! Foiled again! I'm ready to pay at the drop of a hat...I mean a Green YES. Good thing there's a "guyswhomaynevergetanygear" meeting tonight. There is a meeting, isn't there AC?

:D

For this I apoligize. I was going on the assumption we would have another 1000 piece delivery. This go round it is 6 times the last one and to be efficient I had to out source the pack & ship. The big hold up is getting the payment for shipping. Right now, there are around 40 orders (more than 100 boxes) waiting on pymt and in storage. Sometime this week I plan to manually send each person an E-mail as a reminder. Like I mentioned Friday I invoiced around 20 orders, and am waiting on pymt. and as of 4:30pm today (Sunday) not one was received. If any ARE received in the next couple of hours, they will ship out in the morning.

No problem, Chance. I totally understand that the logistics have changed for this go-around.

Just know that there are definitely still people out there who aren't taking your hard work for granted and who will be making your life easier by paying for shipping the second they receive their green "yes"!

How are they doing it...Alphabetically? By country? Order #? Dart board?

I'm pretty sure they monitor this forum, and then hold off on packing the orders of people who question their methods. They're efficient--and perverse. ;)

Well, from what I gather by the invoicing, they start alphabetically, then when they run out of stock on hand, they will pack what they DO have on hand further down the list just to keep things moving. Next week we will be concentrating on international orders. It's very hard to do both at the same time, because I would need to have 3 windows open at once and by the time I finish one, the other window expires and I would have to log in again and start all over. With doing this seperate, I can get into a rhythm. They had to repack MANY international shipments, which means I had to file for a refund and now have to do all that paperwork over again. If a persons shipment has 2 boxes, I have to treat it as 2 seperate shipments. You can not put 2 boxes as one shipment. Very time consuming.

It's hard to believe out of 20 (?) orders, not one response. Maybe there's a glitch in your system.

Invoice mine tonight, and I'll let you know right away if I got it. :)

Hello everyone - this is my first post at homerecording.

I've been tearing through the "sticky" posts in the microphone section. The quality of shared knowledge on this forum is astonishing, and that's coming from a longtime veteran of many internet forums. Fantastic stuff and I hope to be a permanent reader.

My point - this thread is 257 pages long - everyone is paying and expecting shipment - but the links on the first pages don't seem to work.

I'm DYING to see what everybody is buying, how much it costs, and when can I jump in on the next purchase, but these details are buried somewhere in the 257 pages of this thread.

Can someone pretty please link me to the relevant info? Thanks in advance.

Go to:

http://the-musicians-workshop.com/

Click on microphones to see the ones involved in this group buy, and click on preamps to see those. As far as this current group buy, you are too late, but hang around, there is more to come. Prices are not discussed openly on the forum, rather they were private via email to anyone that signed up to be a part of the group buy at the start, which was the early spring of this year. I will say this about prices, we got some great deals!!

Very cool. Thank you very much. Look forward to participating in the next purchase. :)

Chance,

I just got invoiced and paid for my pres/mics (hurray!). Not sure if you need this reminder again now, but I'm due four shockmounts & some replacement ribbons when they ship my order. Details are quoted below.

Best,
Adam

Chance:

I'm due four ES-24 shockmounts from the last group buy, plus ribbons for the ACM-3. If it matters, I haven't been invoiced yet for this latest group buy.

Best,
Aj (email adam at oneXgoodXroomXdotXcom - without the Xs, of course.).

And what they look like RACKED!!

NOTE: I had to use wood rails to mount the pre's due to spacing issues with standard rails. Fine with me though. I actually prefer wood rails....

So start saving up for next years goodies.....:D
