I had one of those years ago and it cost me $275! I replaced it with a Radio Shack version that worked just as well and probably only cost $20-$30. Don't know it they still sell them or not. That's been many years ago....

Perhaps I'm wrong, but I understood that this was basically the same mic that it looks like, which has been sold under a few brands. I also thought that a similar one was available (not in the last one but) in a previous group buy. Let me know if I'm wrong, Chance.

Site is back up now... It was down for a while due to a router going bad and having to be replaced...

hey chance, to add to the chatter around the 1200...do you know if its design is closer to an american model machine gun, or would it be closer to a soviet design?

also, how is the replacement ribbon thing going to work for the ACM-3's from the last buy? are they going to automatically be shipped to everyone who ordered 1 last time around?
 
Approx £25-30 depending on exchange rate. Still a good deal. The box was heavy and quite large.

I got the ACM-310 and the ACM-3. The 310 is pretty heavy as it has the power supply, but I think there may be a standard charge then a surcharge as the weight increases.

I think I may have been lucky with my ACM-3 as it sounds very decent (although slightly bassier than I expected - may indicate a small amount of sag), especially good on trumpets and Flugel horns. Also sounds good on mandolin.
The ACM- 310 sounds respectable on acoustic guitars, but its working really well on snare, which is what I got it for. I mostly record jazz so I cannot comment on hard hitting, but great for brushwork.

anyone got any more info on the ACM-300 (does it come with shock mount & wind screen? like in the picture) (how does it sound?)

zeta... on the list its "AMC"-300 - no biggie, just though i'd mention it while i was here askin about it...
 
The special or what´s the word are the preamps,
I would quess 73 or 81 are the best choices

It must be night time in the US....the numbers on the "quantities" page have stopped jumping around ;)
 
Hmmm... maybe we need to further promote the preamps to get the numbers up? I'd love to save $100 if we could meet the minimums. :D
