For anyone who's perfectly matched a stereo pair of mics, they well know how many you have to listen to to find the perfect matched pair.

It should take 6 or 8 to get a reasonably matched pair (or two!). You can usually get another pair for every two mics you add to the pot. So if anybody is concerned about that, get your mics together and match them, and swap for a matched pair!

The trick to that is the leftovers are often the outliers that won't match anything easily. It might take a group of 30 to match everybody. I don't know what to tell you about that, unless somebody has singles or extras they are willing to throw into the process.

Yes, certainly ALWAYS check the voltage setting on any new gear you get.

Steve and others, do let us know what you think when you test.

BTW, Oliver has a transformer that can replace the one in the ACM-3 ribbon.

I'm going to exchange it and test next week.

that's my intention too ,
Suppose it complicates things to pay for one
but ship it with the goods ,
i'll do it after the smoke clears !

Hi Chance. Have you been able to check whether or not the payments have cleared your bank? That PayPal thing has me a bit worried. Of course, maybe the banks are not open yet in CA. lol Thanks.

If you mean the shirts, that would be kind of hard. CafePress is a print-on-demand service. They typically don't exist until ordered, and once ordered, they are shipped out by CafePress. The only way Chance could ship you one would be if you ordered a shirt and had it shipped to him.... :)

BTW, another side note:

Although I did not pull apart any mics, I did not encounter any "droopy" ribbon syndrome. I've heard that when the ribbon is looser than it should be you will hear "clanging" while moving the mic back and forth. I checked all 7 of my ribbons and NONE of them exhibited ANY extraneous noises while vigorously moving them back and forth.

I still hope we get some spares though...

All in all - very happy with every product I got.

Nice..now they just need to survive their final travels to the rest of us.
I wonder if China shipped them in a vertical position, or on their sides this time, as had been discussed a while back.

I'm not sure how they were shipped, but the boxes/cases are oriented in the horizontal (ie: wrong) position. For the ACM2/3 though, you can stand the box on it's side very easily.

Maybe Chance can get the shipping crew to stand those vertically/or on their sides when they prepare the orders.

For all I know, they are already packed vertically. All I said is that the actual wood box itself is oriented horizontally. Since every ribbon I got (7) tested great, I'd guess that whatever problems they've had in the past have been corrected. Otherwise at least one of mine should have had a problem.

Hey Bill, just curious, but did you try checking the acmp mounting in the other style rack rail?

Yeah, I understood what you meant. And if China did ship those wood boxes rotated on their sides, or vertically, then it would only make sense to continue that as they ship out the orders from California.
If they shipped horizontally to begin with, then either you got lucky, or the issue was in house after all.

I just checked and was blown away how many people ordered T-shirts.

Hey, I guess I missed this the first time around, but could someone link me to the CafePress site? I just tried searching their site and I couldn't find TnC!

Thanks.

Edit: NM!! Found them!
