Groove Tubes Bass Preamp

Did a bass gig at a blues bar a few weeks ago and plugged into their house bass rig. It used a Groove Tubes preamp, something I never knew existed. It sounded absolutely spectacular. Gave "warmth" a whole new meaning. Funny thing is I came across an identical used model in a music store yesterday. Anyone heard of/seen these before? I'm tempted to snap this baby up on the basis of (a) it's being GT, which already says a lot, (b) the way it sounds, and (c) the price ($400). Any comments appreciated.
 
Groove Tubes has made a few different ppreamps over the years,but the only one I knew about that was specifically for bass was one they made for SWR about 7-8 years ago,the name of which escapes me at the moment,but it was all tube.Good stuff!
