Need a good and reasonably priced condenser microphone to record both vocals and acoustic (nylon) guitar. Have been looking at the following:
Studio Projects/ B1 model $80
Rode/ NT3 model $150
Behringer/ B2 Pro $150
Groove Tube/ GT55 $150

If anyone has or has used any of these and can strongly recommend one over the other please advise. Thanks.

Add the CAD M179 to your list of possible mics. It's a rather nice mic for the price ($179 or so).

Audio Technica 4040.

Groove Tube mics are nice. I've worked with a few of them now, including Big Kenny's MD-1B. I think they're some of the best the Chinese factories have to offer.

I just picked up a GT55 from GC.
They have a package that comes with.

GT55 Mic
GT55 Shock mount
AKG K240 headphones
OnStage Studio boom (with wheels)

All for $299.99

I only played around with the mic a little and like it so far.
It is not as bright as my MXL 2003. It sounds much better than my AKG C3000's (not the C 3000B)

I have a weird idea...if you all think it's dumb let me know, but I think it could potentially be very helpful to all the newbies who keep asking the same questions about the same low priced mics.

I know none of us have all of these mics (at least I don't think anyone does), but if everyone could post info on the low priced mics they have then we could make a list on the pros and cons of each one...we could mention sound quality, self-noise, construction, bright/dark sound..etc. I think it could help a lot of people decide which mic would be the best for them.

But again, if you think it would be pointless then don't worry about it. Just an idea...
