Well here is my first entry (and last if I don't get certain compaints about it.)

SuffragetteCity_Fishmed

:drunk:
Compaints, eh? I'm going to hope you're asking for "complaints" and not "compliments".

The biggie is it sounds stressed, like size 10 feet stuffed into size 8 shoes. It feels like something's gotta' give. So relieve the pressure by pulling some parts back down.

Aside from that, the snare 'verb would be great for 90's pop rock...not so much here.

I hope this mix breathes better.

Fishmed ver 2.0

dowloading now...

i'll give this a try...i usualy suck at these trying to get them into sonar and shit, but i'll try it again for greg...would be cool to win a cd!

Lol! :laughings:

I do love fried chicken. :o

It's: "This mellow thighed chick has put my spine out of place"

it's amazing how wrong you can hear things!

despite the song title, all i can hear on the outro repetition is "self righteous city"

that was a hoot! I'll have my mix up in a bit after i check it in my mastering room...(KIA) LMAO

+1... I was about to post the same thing.

Where is Weird Al when you need him?

Thanks for the complements guys. :)

Okay got em all saved. Thanks guys.

Deadline is noon (Central US time) tomorrow.

I've just listened to an 1/2 dozen mixes and I have to say there's some talent out there.
Excellent source material from Greg does make the task easier.
Interesting that no-one went out on a limb with a dub mix or something similarly radical.
For those non Bowiephiles out there try The Man Who Sold The World for some serious rock - great sounds in a rough rock way though my fav on it is All The madmen.
For a greater variety try Hunky Dory because it soars with Rono's arrangement & playing of Life On Mars, lilts with Fill Your Heart, rocks with Queen Bitch & gets creepy with The Bewlay Bros.

Didnt have the time retreat the guitar fills the way I want them however I did remove some of the verb.

Here is a new mix

I know my mix isnt as clear as some others however I did that on purpose...I dont like that crisp harsh sound and prefer a lot more bass and bottom end in the mix.

EDIT...Just noticed I forgot to remove a few seconds of empty space at beginning of song...oops

Wow, this is going to be a tough one for you. There are so many great mixes here, that it is going to boil down to your personal preference.
