I just wanted to say I'm having a gas working with Sonar.

Comming from cake 8 as a recorder/editor, mixing analog, to mixing in Sonar, I can't imagine going back. I love being able to switch songs, even between projects without missing a beat. The tools WORK, they sound great...

I haven't used PA9 since Sonar was first released in March 2001. However, in answering questions on this site from people still using PA9, it reminds me of just how much we gained in the upgrade to Sonar.

I liked PA9 when I used it, but I would slit my wrists if I had to go back to it. I'm with you mixit!

I will add, however, that Sonar 2 (IMHO) wasn't worth the upgrade price. It's OK, but I could have easily continued to live with 1.3.1. And, in fact, I still do on my DAW. I have 2.0 on my secondary computer for evaluation, and have found no pressing need to move it over to my DAW.
 
Gentlemen, I use Cakewalk PA9 now predominantly as my editor. Tell me what is better about Sonar?
 
Besides just basic Eye Candy, the colorful interface just makes more sense. Sonar feels more professional. I, too was a huge PA9 fan...until I started using Sonar v1..and now Sonar v2. If I was to go back to PA9 now, I'm afraid that I'd find it boring and simplistic in comparison. If you want a detailed look at the differences, go to the http://www.cakewalk.com website and read. It has alot of new features such as softsynths, etc., yes, but the new look is what got me. It's very different...but it uses the same keystrokes/commands....well worth the upgrade because of the gain in productivity as a result!
