ATI

I had an ATI card that had the TV out feature. Ended up giving it to my son when I upgraded to a Matrox Dual Head card.

I don't remember which ATI card it was, but I'm sure that you can get info about it from their web site.

ATI makes a wonderful card. I have had several other cards in the past and I have never bee as satisfied as I am with the ATI cards that I have used. The ATI ALL-IN-WONDER 9000 PRO is a good card and it is only $199.99. There are cheaper ones available though.

I've had both ATI and nVidia, it's a coin toss as far as I'm concerned, my lastest card is nVidia because I like the way they keep updateing their drivers, even for very old cards.

For a studio computer?
Any Matrox card. Excellent in 2D, superb drivers support.

For your purposes, ATI / NVIDEA / Matrox - any of them would be fine. Doesn't really matter. You can get ATI cards using older versions of the Radeon chipset for $39. Ditto with older nVidia cards.

for me nothing is topping a nvidia chipset Mb with a nvidia video card

i've got an invidia ge force 4 128mb card and everything looks awesome. of course it looked about the same with the ge force 2 64 mb. dont' be suckered into paying twice as much for the newest technology when the older looks about the same. in the 2D you will probably see zero difference.
