*graded* drum scores ??!?!???!??

I'm looking for drum score books that have graded peices to play along to, I want to learn to sight read drum notation but it seems the lack of material available is making things more difficult. I have found a couple of sites that have user uploaded scores but they are not graded or varied enough to stop me from learning by ear quicker than learning by sight.

Has anyone come accross any books etc?

I had one. I don't have a clue where it is though. I did grade 8 drums for school. Maybe it was the rockschool drums book. I have no idea. Check out ebay, there's a few there ;)

I can read drum score, but much prefer learning by ear. Being able to sight read does help though. You don't have to remember a whole song, but it might lead you to rely on the score. :p
 
I'm moving away from playing by ear as I'm wanting to write scores for all instrumentation before I start recording. I also want to build a recording up via a final take of drums, then of bass etc. Some of my stuff is unexpected & a little complex at times & theres no way I could remember everything of each intrument. My mind wanders a little sometimes when I play by ear & I end up making stupid mistakes which is really annoying. When reading a score I have to concentrate which means I make less mistakes.

I'm a long way off of it though, I've just been reading music for a month and a bit but I'm already playing grade 3 stuff on violin using only the dots (and i bought the violin about two & a half months ago). I could play to a higher level by ear, but I can always do that later once I can sight read.
 
I've seen the Guildhall School of Music grade books, are they any good?
 
Rockschool are the best, IMO - they come with a backing track CD and the pieces are in a band form - as opposed to just a drum solo. Grades 1-8.

There are a few available, although older. There is a drum score site that provides information on notation and has over 250 different drum scores from which to choose from. Try browsing their library, then listening to the music and reviewing the notation. You'll pick up the ability to read drum notation fairly quickly. Private lessons are another method, albeit can get expensive.
