Hey Ya!
I just got a Grace 101 preamp and am still trying to work with it...
Ive been trying to use my Pod Pro with the Grace101 then to my digi-001.
Can anyone who has experience with these 2-3 peices of equipment tell me any secrets to using the grace effectively.

This is how I am running them. Guitar into Pod Pro and out into the Grace 101 and then into the 3rd analog input of the digi001. I have noticed a decent amount of buzz and hum when using the grace 101 with the Pod. I have noticed that if I have the channel all the way up and the output all the way up on the Pod it overloads the Grace. So I tried it the otherway around Grace first then the POD but this overloads the Grace101.
I have noticed that an individual guitar track run thru the Grace Does sound "just" noticibly better than without. But where it seems to help is getting the maximum signl to the digi and it improves clarity when you try to mix 2-3 different guitar parts together... BUt anyways
Can someone help me and tell me if I am doing anything wrong???
Thanks Ya...

If you're overloading the preamp, just turn it down a bit. The main out on the POD is pretty much post-everything. So, it isn't going to affect the timbre of the sound.

I don't understand why you have the Grace in the signal chain at all. The gain doesn't need to be boosted, so what's the point?
POD Pro > S/PDIF out > Digi 001 S/PDIF in. So what is the Grace there for? Yes, I know the Grace is a better preamp than the POD, but if you already used the POD as the front of the signal chain, running the signal through an additional pre will not improve the sound. Also, the POD puts out a line level analog output. Are you going to a line level input on the Grace, or a mic input? If you are going from an XLR line out on the POD to a mic level XLR in on the Grace, that explains why you're overloading it.-Richie
