I'm real excited to have a new guitar I haven't even touched it since I got it home because I've never had a guitar this nice. After spending a few hours playing several different brands of guitars and a few different exact same guitars I picked this one based on it was just so creamy to play.

I mean that in a sexual way as well as in a playing guitar way :laughings:

lol My wife would kill me. She said it's my last guitar I get to buy. So, I told her if I break it by accident then I get to get a new one. :D

I basically had mid ranged guitars that didn't really do it for me anymore. So, I saved up some money and sold my other guitars in trade for this 1 really bad ass guitar.

It really does make every other guitar I've had over the years seem like shit. I played other Gibson's as well. This was just the one for me. I almost ended up with a semi-hollow gretsch, but it didn't sound too great with distortion.

The Gibson I picked gave me that creamy full sounding blues tone you can get only in a wet dream. It gave me cleans, so clean, that Mr clean wouldn't have shit to clean. It gave me distortion that would rival any Death Metal guitar out there. The neck is a lot thicker than my Jackson, but that doesn't slow down one's ability to shred. :drunk:

She said it's my last guitar I get to buy.

They all say that...you just have to ignore them.
Wait for her to bring up shopping...then tell her you need more gear too.

If they don't understand why you need more than one guitar...just bring up all their shoes and handbags... :D

haha i hear you on that mate. That doesnt really work to well, cause since when has a pair of shoes cost £1500? lol. Love the guitar man, What amp you runnign it through?

In words of Nigel Tufnel: The "sustayne" listen to it......well you would if it were playing....

Nigel Tufnel: Look... still has the old tagger on it, never even played it.
Marty DiBergi: [points his finger] You've never played...?
Nigel Tufnel: Don't touch it!
Marty DiBergi: We'll I wasn't going to touch it, I was just pointing at it.
Nigel Tufnel: Well... don't point! It can't be played.
Marty DiBergi: Don't point, okay. Can I look at it?
Nigel Tufnel: No. no. That's it, you've seen enough of that one... dont even look at it.......

Nice AXE!

I just got done carefully putting my favorite strings on it. The case is awesome for sure LOL.

I am going to play the crap out of it, but it's just scary having a guitar that costs more than $400.

EDIT: Anyone think on a guitar like this that you would need better pickups to maybe get an even better sound or stock ones OK. This is the first time owning a Gibson and I think it sounds great, but not sure if it could be even better.

490R and 498T Alnico 2 magnet humbucker pickups (BurstBucker Pro on faded finish models). I think I have the BurstBucker because I think the other ones are chrome plated if I'm correct.

I loved my old 50s LP...it was heavy and not as comfortable as my strat...but it was like some kind of demon was in it that magically took my fingers and made it sound awesome.

Some asswipe stole it so I dont have it anymore...but I still have that old beat up case.

I think I'm in love with it dude. I don't have a problem with comfort. The thing is so balanced that I don't have to worry about the headstock diving down like on my old metal style guitars.

Playing it is so easy and effortless that I couldn't imagine wanting to play anything else...

Nice guitar man.

There is just something about the real deal when you find one that suits you.

It's funny how until you get a Gibson that really speaks to you, you'll write them off until you're blue in the face. Too expensive, Epi's can be made just as well, too fragile, too common, blah blah blah... but once you get a Gibson, there really isn't anything else that does it. I've got better made guitars, but none of them actually sound as good as my LPs. I really think it's the wood (I mean, everything else isn't that special) - I can't think of anything else (I don't care either, they sound so nice).

Wouldn't change the pickups either, at least for a while. The only thing I do is replace the tailpiece with an aluminium one, I think it makes them sound a bit more lively. But for now, if it's brand new, you gotta play that sucker in! The last one I got was a LP standard and it's chambered (not sure if yours is) and after a few weeks of playing it really changed from a little honky and midrangey to a really clear balanced sound.

Yeah I know what you mean. I always played flashier guitars that were made for shredding metal licks. This guitar seems to be able to handle that style and anything else you could throw at it.

Something about it man. Don't know what it is and playing so many guitars that even looked cooler, but just didn't have the magic, before actually buying it I played EVERY guitar in it's class.

I may have to get me a 6 pack tonight and celebrate, because I think I found the guitar I've always wanted :drunk:

Its almost worth the hump you will develop in your old age...lol.

Theres nothing like an old one if you get the chance to play them...they feel different than the ones that are hanging at the guitar center.

I played a real old Les Paul one time and it was pretty shitty. So, not all guitars are created equal LOL:laughings:

She's just not shopping in the right stores.

Nice Studio.

Here is a few more. I can't complain about my set up even though I read some negative feelings towards the line 6 amps. It's fun as hell having it. I can get any sound I want from super clean, creamy blues, to full on death metal shredding. I think the Gibson really brings out the chunky bottom end that most people can only dream about.
