Not bad at all. I see you reppin yo city. That's what's up. You got some heat. Keep doin the damn thang.

Thanks dawg... I went to your myspace page... Well first lemme say the quality is banannas... real good sound quality. So are you the girl singin or the producer/beat maker or both? Whatsup...

Also... if you don't mind I'd love to know your recording chain of equiptment. What preamp & mic you use for vocals etc.

Thanks for the comments too yo...

LOL, Nah dawg I'm the producer, those were just some of my demo singers.

As far as my recording chain. I just record through a Mackie board directly into Pro-tools, but I'm a perfectionist when it comes to my mix. I try to compensate for the lack of pre-amps by putting a lot of time into my mixes. In my opnion that's half of what make a song good. A bad mix can kill a hot song, like scuffed up shoes can kill a tight outfit. Ya feel me?

What's that Brew city hip hop scene like? Y'all got some people ready to rep on a national scale besides Coo coo Cal?

Brew city is ok yo... a bunch of drunks for the most part... lol Yeah dawg we got some talented cats man... Some dudes are makin moves more then others of course but yea... I dunno who if anyone is gonna be next to make a nationwide released song or album... Milwaukee isn't really on the map much but who knows...

What kinda mic do you use for vocals if you don't mind me asking. Also if you would endulge wit me for a minute... What kind of compression do you use and EQ'in for vocals? I know thats the type of shit people don't want to share but if you got any advice... shit, I'd appreciate a PM or somethin yo...

Reason being is I just started mixing more of my own songs and its still pretty new to me. I've been reading some books and lots of stuff on the net but its hard to put that information with a certain sound if you don't hear it. So with your stuff... I'm liking what I'm hearing so I'd love to know some tips or tricks your doing. That'd be dope man...

Anyway... even if you can lemme know what mic your using that'd help too.. And it seems the best mixes I hear come from pro tools so... I dunno... I might have to look into Pro Tools... I'm pretty much stuck wit something else for now tho cause I just got the ONYX 400f from Mackie and I can't afford shit else right now. Plus the preamps are pretty damn good... I borrowed my boys cheap ass $60 MXL Condensor mic and with some dynamic processing & compression in adobe audition combined with the onyx's preamps and A/D conversion... it got a prettyy damn good sound...

It's wierd tho cause the mix I did which is really my first whole song I mixed myself, it sounds good on my studio monitors and in my car... but play it on some cheap pc speakers and it sounds like levels are messed up... Overdubs too high etc. So I dunno... I guess thats just all shit ya try to learn how to fix and compensate for? I read somewhere that you want to hear ya mixes on as many diff speakers as possible to get an understanding of how your speaker monitors work and sound.

In audition you only get a 3 band equalizer so... i dunno i try to make stuff sound as good as I can but I have a lot to learn when it comes to mixing...

Sorry yo I posted a lot... appreciate any advice or tips you might have. Again tho. I am interested in what mic you used for vocals...

Thanks dawg..

Peace.
