i just got my fostex MR-8 recorder, i know i know, what everyone else has but whatever it was cheap and good quality. Alright i have a few questions.......how would i hook up a mixer to my MR8? Should i buy any signal processors right now? If so which kinds, and which ones of those kinds preferably under the price of $200? Is the Behringer UB1832FX-Pro a good mixer to buy? If not what is, which is not too expensive? Would i be able to use this mixer for live applications? Whats the difference between an analog and a powered mixer? thanks, i know some of these are dumb questions but whatever...thanks!!

The fostex is not a bad little unit. Quite good for recording.
It has a sp/dif or digital output that you can tie to an audio card with digital in capability {using digital coax RCA connects cable}
It already has some built in effects to use like reverbs, delays and others so outboard processors are a personal preference if you want em.
Behringer gets a bad rap around here, but I dont really think they are all that bad. If its what you can afford, go for it.
