if you have some decently performed/recorded tracks that you'd be willing to share with me for mixing practice, i'd be very grateful. any style would be fine. if you're wondering about my skill level, or rather my like thereof, you can listen here:

thanks.

edit: also, if you use reaper as your daw, and would be interested in checking out my reaper project file of mixing your tracks, i'll give you that and a mp3 mixdown. i use all free plugins, so there should be no issues with sharing the project file with you.

Hey man, I am interested in hearing how someone would mix my tracks. I will upload my tracks later today when I get home. No, I don't use reaper, but I could tell you exactly what I did to each track. The tracks themselves are not pristine but workable. Let me know if you are still up for it; it will take awhile to upload.

absolutely, and thanks. for alignment sake, try to make sure that each track's wav file begins at the same start point. also, you should be able to reduce your upload time by adding everything to a zip file.

i know that i'm going to regret posting this. my ears are shredded, i've been up too long, i didn't reference against anything.....yea, this is going to sound horrible tomorrow, i know it. any way, first crack:

there's still plenty there to work out. the delay on the vox isn't right, vox needs some smoothing out, i only used the overheads and kick so the drums still need some attention, i didn't do much automating overall and it needs plenty. for all that i haven't done yet, i did quite a bit still. but yea, it's rough and needs work. and yes, that snare is loud, but i didn't have much of an option. thanks for providing the tracks clong89. any thoughts? maybe i'll keep working on it. hard stuff to mix, it is.

Like it. The vocals sound good to me. I am not familiar with delay effects. Hard to believe it's just overheads. How did you work with the overheads? The kick sounds good man. I can't get it mine to sound right. What did you do to the guitar during the arpeggiating part? Good mixing.

the overheads got lots of compression on the drum buss (endorphin and density mkII), nothing else there until the master buss, except a tiny bit of reverb from the reverb buss. the kick, lot's of low/low mid eq cutting, a noisegate to tighten it up, and compression from endorphin and density. guitar got saturation, cab sims, lots of eq (mostly low/low mid cutting) and a light chorus for width. the master got some saturation and eq. if you had a hard time mixing this, i don't think it's your fault. i had to use wayyy too much low/low mid cutting on about everything before starting to mix. i didn't get to where i wanted to with it, but it's good practice. if you want any/all stems from the project to check out, just let me know, and i'll up them. thanks again for providing the tracks and the comments.
