Here's my equipment (and issues):
-Zoom H4 mic/recorder with sort of useless pre amp effects and other simulators. It came with a version of Cubase 4, but everytime it starts up, the computer crashes. So instead of hooking the recorder directly to a computer, I have to take a pair of pliers to get at the SD card. Any suggestions for what to do about this?
-A small room that isn't insulated, can hear everything on the mic with the high gain setting.
-An Admira Juanita classical guitar that has almost no sustain and projects poorly.
-A very noisy desktop computer that crashes/freezes a lot.
-I just got back to Europe, so everything available in the US is either unvailable or too expensive for me.
I would like to know how many guitar tracks to record, and how to do it with my limited equipment. Like I'm not sure how I would record two separate tracks with the same guitar part. All I have to edit the tracks with is audacity, any other free program suggestions would be helpful too.
