Good set of Ears to provide feedback??

Cheers!

The idea behind the vocals was originally to show the contrast between the robotic male figure and the loose female after a break up. I didn't mean for the end result to sound chipmonk-ish however!

Also the female vocal seems really hard to keep under control, next time i will record completely dry and see what i can do from there. Any tips to lower their intensity?

I've no idea when it comes to recording vocals...I can barely keep my own under control half the time..

I like the female vocals...they just seem a little unnaturally pitched, but theyre not offensive or anything, and fit with the songs tone overall

rubbish.....

some of the software has surpassed much of what it was trying to emulate in the synth world.....a $200 yamaha would be lucky to fake a convincing fart

I doubt half of you would spot a well played sampler in a mix anyway...but if it doesnt have a guitar, bass, and drums its somehow not real music...well yeah, you're kinda right, its not generic rock pish for sure

If you dont get the genre why comment? this is the mix clinic and people post to get comments or leave comments on mixes not "i hate this genre"

get some new material guys, some of you are getting fucking boring :)

Lol @ over-defensive.

lol @ the old squares trying to tell the young hipsters what works and doesnt work in modern music :D

Lol @ over-defensive.

Yes, MAJOR lolz at that... anyway cheers for the feedback kcearl, this is the first track i've ever had me sing on, no mind having another voice. We're both pretty in-experienced singers so I'm aware that theres a definite lack of vocal emotion. It's something that we can work on though. Now that the track is more or less at a rough completion stage, i might just have the vocals completely re-done, naturally

lol @ greg thinking that drum and bass existed in the mid 80s...did someone say square daddio?

:laughings:

I didn't say I didn't get it. I was half in the bag when I posted last night (it was night here in the Philippines) and what I was trying to say is that this genre is one that you really have to know what you're doing to pull it off. He just missed the mark a little.

And there is software out there that will blow the doors off a lot of real instruments.

If it's used correctly. You said so yourself.

no, down with you and all like you!

:D

sorry dude i was pre-coffee and pissed off by a noisy neighbour playing that damned rock n roll

so... I mix with mouse clicks... is that fake mixing as well :spank:

Or do I need 4 stoned out musicians, each grabbing a fadar so we can do a final mix without automation :drunk:

This is the MP3 Clinic. Let's keep this thread all about DaveCNewton's mix.
