I've carried the 767 in my bag for quite a while as my go-to when needed, with a slight preference over the typical '58's around.
Figured I'd try this one out, and finally got to this evening. My preconceived (learned' notion is that mics that let you get too close to the diaphragm are also problematic'. Well yes better sig-to noise' = better gain before feedback etc-- but at the expense of even more critical and exaggerated dynamics and tone changes! I was pleasantly surprised. It seem I was able to sing up fairly close, but use small vertical movements (a little over' the mic rather than just distance'?) worked out rather IDK, comfortably.
