good deal?

is this a good deal? at 8thstreet.com you get the "MXL-2001 w/ SM & FREE MXL-603S" for $179.95... sound sgood to me, but is it worth the money?

Ive heard the 603 is a good mic but the 2001p sucks(IMO).Ive had one about a year or so and to my ears it sounds harsher every time I listen to it.8th Street has the Audio Technica 3525 for $149 to me the 3525 sounds much more natural without the harshness that the 2001p has.

For the same amount of jack ($$$) you can get a Marshall MXLv67 and a Behringer ECM8000.......should cover most of the same applications......

so the 2001p is a shit mic? thought i saw a great deal... oh well. will look into the AT. already have two ecm8000's...

I have heard good things about other Marshall mics though,Im can only relay my experiences with the 2001p.
