I have a dream to turn my basement into a recording studio. but i dont have a computer (using family computer). So i was wondering what kind of computer would someone recommend? I was planning on spennding no more than $700.
Do you have any spare outboard gear to use with it? Like a monitor, keyboard, mouse etc. etc.? If so then you can surely get a decent rig going for $700 that will allow you to upgrade piece by piece when money allows. If not then it'll be a lot harder to get a tower going AND get a decent monitor etc.
Yea i know of a place near me that has great monitors for amazingly cheap. I have everything i need, key board, mouse, spare monitors. I just have no idea what type of computer would support recording. I dont wanna buy a computer that will not intake certain equipment or software. Or can any computer handle it if upgraded properly? I dont know.
That's a pretty nice DAW there. Best part is that it will handle a lot that you throw at it and it isn't maxed out yet as far as RAM and such. This is taking into account you already have keyboard etc. etc. and you're only needing a tower. A lot of those are what I have or will have in my next DAW. The video card is way overkill for a DAW but you could spec one out for less if needed. You could also get a better PSU and one that's more quite then what comes with the case. You'd still just be a little over your budget if you got that.
