Sorry to post something that I am sure has been posted a million times. But are there some decent free VST soft synths out there for Mac? I'm just getting the feel for my DAW right now, so I'm not at the level to know exactly which one I will want to pay for. I will be there soon, for sure, just not yet. Something with an arpeggiator maybe? Just a link to another useful thread would be fine. :D

Note to self ... do search before you post. Just found the KVR site suggested on another thread. Nice.

What DAW are you using that still uses (or even supports) VST plug-ins? Pretty much everything these days uses Audio Unit plug-ins.

Well, I'm 'trying' to use Studio Artist One. MacBook Pro, 2.2 ghz Intel Core 2 Duo, 4g ram, M-Audio Oxygen 61. Anything out there you'd like to suggest? I'm all ears ...;)

Studio One Pro supports AU plug-ins, Studio One Artist doesn't appear to support any outside plug-ins at all, VST or otherwise, if I read the specs correctly.
