Super Perfectionist
I've been looking at different amp simulators, and from my searches, it seems that Kuassa Amplifikation One seems to be popular over at other forums like GS. The main thing that seems to be good about this Amp simulator is that it sounds very nice, and is very well priced ($50).

Does anyone have any experience with this amp sim? If so, could you tell me if it's good or bad and if you'd recommend it. Also, please don't tell me to mic a real amp instead, I am looking solely for an amp simulator.

By the way, I play metal/hard rock.

Thanks, and have a good day :)

I've never used the one you listed, but I've had good results with Guitar Rig and Revalver. If you wanna give em a try, I'm pretty sure they have demo versions. Although they're not $50 cheap.

Thanks, I actually do have a stripped down version of Guitar Rig that came with Komplete Elements when I purchased Studio One. I like it, but it requires a lot of tweaking to get the tone you want, IMO.

never heard of that one. I use amplitube which has a free version and you can just use the free models or download only the stuff you want or even get the whole thing. The free one is pretty darn good and has tons of features. i also have a free jcm 900 amp simulator that is pretty darn awesome but its just a plug in to my DAW.

i can't post links so just replace the dots with dots the spaces

Le456 and LeCto from LePou.

LePou Plugins: LE456
LePou Plugins: LeCto

With a good cab sim or reamping into a mic'd cab, they sound brilliant.
I use Kefir I think it's called for loading cab impulses. Though even LePou have a pretty good one called LeCab on that site too. I just prefer the simplicity of Kefir. =]

I mostly use a Zoom G3, but I have GR and Amplitube, both are great...Overloud TH1 (or TH2 I think it is now) is also really good if its rock...none are $50 though

I use a POD for demoing guitar tracks. Some of the models are quite convincing. The high gain british model is pretty spot on. I just got one for $25, so its a nice quick and easy tool to have around.

Line 6 Pod Farm 2.0

I have climbed this tree for years and for me personally Line 6 Pod Farm 2.0 is what I keep coming back to. (yes I have the newest guitar rig 5, and have tried Amplitude). However, I do agree that the hardware pod's sound the most realistic.

To each their own. Tone is a really personal thing. I started with a Pod years ago, even went through their amps and ended up with a Pod XT Live for gigging. After I bought a StealthPedal, AmpliTube Fender and Ampeg SVX I sold all my Pod's and modeling amps and haven't looked back since. Really its all about finding your tone. :)

Yes, I think that is the course we are all on. Just experiment as much as you can and keep an open mind. Record things and take them to different environments for evaluation. Listen to guitar sounds both by themselves and within a mix. Try different pickup positions and as many guitars as possible. It's not just the amp sim that makes the guitar sound (good or bad). Excellent chops can make a bad guitar sound good and crappy chops will make the best sounding guitar become..well...crap...
@IK Obi
T-Racks is the bomb (especially the new black and white). Many many kudos to your company for adding the creamy glue to my recordings (especially on the drums).

Th2

I just found out about this one: TH2 from overloud . com (sorry I can't post URL's as of yet)

Evidently will be included in the new version of Sonar X2 arriving the end of August.

I have the pod 2, and pod farm with all the add ons, theyre my least favourite tbh...the pre amps are pretty good on podfarm but really if you compare GR5 pro and Amplitube 3 theres no contest really...same goes with the G3 compared to the pod, unless its maybe the HD version

Guitar modelling is just getting so advanced now that my iphone and ipad apps sound way better than the early Pod stuff

Definitely each to their own but if you havent tried the modern modellers you dont know what your mssing

Ha, thanks for the compliment on AmpliTube for iOS. It really is crazy to think you can get better tones on your iPhone than the PODs people used to get way excited about.

Yeah once the bleed problem was solved with the 30 pin connection it really rocks...i love the fender collection, one of the best pieces of software on the IOS platform

I also have the th1 plugin with Auria...its pretty solid too

Cant believe the choices and toys we have nowadays

Hey i have a question for you!!

Has amplitube gotten a little bit less of resource hog ??? I remember demoing a free trial version i got with a magazine probably back in 2004 or 2005 and it pretty much brought my computer to a screeching halt? So i have been kind of down on the product. It looks like it has alot to offer and times do change.

I like my Line 6 Stuff. I have gotten used to it, but i'd be willing to demo amplitube again if it was a bit more productive then what i used....

I use guitar rig 4 and i really like the tones i used to get but this has been vastly improved since recording the output to analogue tape (reel to reel styley) and reimporting into the daw.
Just my view.
Amplitube seems a little digital for my taste.
it depends on the track and how it sits in the mix, a bit of horses for courses.
