Hey guys need some help.

I have my mic, guitar, keyboard all going to my mixer (behringer1622) and am getting sound. When I try to play a mp3 or WMA on my computer I get nothing. I am running sub outputs to the right and left ins on the PCI and the OUTs on the PCI to my line 5/6. I have the main out on the mixer going to my monitors. I think I have the PCI outs/ins going to the wrong places on the mixer but I don't know. Any ideas?

Thanks

It's possible that you may have the inputs and outputs of the soundcard mixed up.
The best starting point would be .... What soundcard are you using?

Provided you do in fact have the output of the mixer going to the line in of the soundcard and the line out of the soundcard going to the mixer, you may need to look at the soundcards mixer applet to make sure you have the levels set appropriately and the line out is not muted.

Finally I can hear my music. Ahhh. I had to click on some little buttons 1 and 2 on the mixer and move the main mix all the way up. Still doesn't sound like I am getting all the volume for some reason. I was expecting a louder clearer sound. Any ideas?

Still don't know what soundcard your computer has nor what Operating System you use but I'll take another stab......
Lets say it's a regular PC with a regular soundcard running Windows.
Double click the little speaker by the clock. This brings up the Volume control for the soundcard.
Crank up the faders. Namely the Wave and Master faders.

sand. i'm confused what you are trying to do.
play regular mp3's on your computer ?
record a song from microphones ? and overdub adding tracks in multitrack software.??
please detail more . thnx plus what your sound card is and mixer. mics etc

Sorry Guys. I am very new to this so I will try and provide you all the info this time. I know I probably have the wiring screwed up or something. Here is the equipment I have:

I have a great PC, with AP2496 sound card (new), behringer 1622fx pro mixer, cw homestudio, bx5 monitors, guitar, midi keyboard, samson studio condensor mic.

I have my mic(1), guitar(2), keyboard(3 - I only have one phone output on my keyboard) all going to my mixer (behringer1622) and am getting sound. I am running sub outputs 1 and 2 on the mixer to the ins on the PCI right and left and the OUTs on the PCI to the 5/6 right and left on the mixer. I have the main out on the mixer going to my monitors.

I have an old soundcard(SB) still in my system but have disabled it. I also had an old speaker system but replaced it with studiophile bx5 monitors. I wanted to record some guitar, vocals, keyboard via midi and audio but I also want to listen to my CD's and MP3's out of the monitors. My MIDI Keyboard sound excellent. Very load and clear but my CD's MP3's sound terrible. Also my guitar has a very weak sound also. When I installed the new sound card I changed the config in the control panel sound to reflect the new settings of the new AP2496.

Please let me know if I can provide you any more info. Again I am new to all this and don't really know that much. thanks guys.
