Now I gotta find some records. Kind of Blue is being watched even now.

I'm trying to put together a system similar to my college days. That system was stolen when I lived in Memphis, while I was asleep in the next room.

See what you get for sleeping?!?!?!...

..............   ;)

Via e-bay, you may actually be buying your old system back!!!! :D

I'm upgrading a tad. I had an AL20 belt drive turntable that didn't have a speed control or strobe. This is direct drive quartz controlled.

Can you see the pix, or do you have to click on the link? I can't get the image code to work for some reason.

I got a new turntable a few months ago and I've been loving it. Congrats!

ahhhh-hah! DO IT!
I've done sort of the same thing somewhat few months ago. I used to have pioneer system... then it all got broken piece by piece and trashed... I still had the cabinet, the turntable and freaking LAMP! :) left.... so one day I've got that "GOTTA get it back" idea... and I must say, it was not easy to find all the components on e-bay.... but I've done it! lol ...overdone actually ..ended up with extra tuner, amp and eq ...
My wife thought I'm losing it, baby ...LOL, but when she saw all the pretty green and red lights coming on and blinkin' - she said: "Wow! cool!" :D
I had a small shot of it somewhere ..if I find it on computer, i'll post it

YES! :D ... more toward over the middle, i'd say ;)
Do IT! Works better than Bayer

It has built-in DSP and a SPDIF out.

Wow!

Unfortunately you can't discuss it in here because it's obviously a digital turntable.

It has analog outs, as well. I use those when digitizing vinyl because I prefer to sample at 24-bit. The SPDIF out is only 16.

There ya go again, talkin' digits in the analog forum.

Who's in charge here?
Well I use it mainly for listening and my ears are still analog. How's that? :D

OK.

So when you digitize vinyl does the analogue warmth get blown to bits?

I got a refurbished Numark TTX1. The things it can do are sick. It has built-in DSP and a SPDIF out. It can calculate the bpm of whatever song you're playing, and you can even lock the key so when you change the pitch it stays in tune. Here's a pic: https://homerecording.com/bbs/attachment.php?attachmentid=15073
That's amazing. I think he's got you beat apl. ;)

I have several turntables I've collected from swap meets. I just gave my neighbor a good one. I figure there's always room for spares. If the one I'm using should die, I'll have half a dozen more to last me. They're becoming less abundant, so grab them while you can. The digital world is winning the battle...the poor slobs. :o

If I was playin' for real I'd get a Beogram 4002, Harmon-Kardon Citation Pre, Macintosh power amp, and a couple of Dahlquist DQ10s.
