Whats up?Here is one I'm working on thats kinda weird...going for a Red Hot Chili Peppers/Zappa/Gong/Steve Hillage type vibe...any mix/song critiques are very much welcomed!

I'm really feeling some blood sugar sex magik chilli peppers here too...but with some funky space 70s twist to it.
That is one seriously funky solo too!
The vocals sound cool too, funny stuff.

That has a slik groove. I like the bass line holding up that guitar phrase. Good structure and arrangement. Drums a lil busy for me in the pivot parts. I like to hear the snare really crack the backbeat a lil more. Good arrangement of parts in the field.

Thanks for the feedback Toki,after hearing it mixed down I agree about the drums being a bit busy...Im gonna remove some of the fills and see how that sounds.I would like to get the snare to crack a bit more...I basicly focused on my kick sound for this song cause I wanted to get a big bottom soumd for the tune..they are loops so its hard for me to eq one part of them without effecting how the rest sounds.

Yeah it's always good to lay down the funk and crank that one up! The vocal style in your song right away actually reminded of the one in the song Blood SSM (?i think that's the one I'm thinking of?) The guitar grooves on that album & your song are excellent too

Yeah, I try to keep recordings as spontaneous as I can too, that keeps things real fun and definitely turns out some interesting twists and turns in songs.

Yup..the tune from that album that kinda inspired me was called "Funky Monks"...as far as recording goes ...its kinda cool sometimes to just hit record and fire away without a preset jam.Some cool styff can definetly happen that way.

A lot times in my "already planned out" song structure, I'll just add a minute or so of a drum track somewhere in there. When I'm recording the song, I get to that point with each instrument and just see what happens. IMO, a lot of cool stuff that still fit the song came out of those "jams"
