Glued Diaphrams on LD mics

Good point. But since the mic designer himself felt they needed to be glued, and they weren't glued because of cost considerations, it seems to be a concern.
 
I'm concerned. I'm thinking about having to replace those mic's down the road. The cost of mic's will most likey cost much more down the road as the craftsmanship goes downhill. I'm thinking about replacing the ones I have as soon as I can afford to do so, and after I get some mileage out of them. I know now, I need to do my homework before buying any mic's. I read somewhere that there is a light bulb at a fire station that has been burning for over 50 years (almost 100 years I think it said), I hate thinking about a light bulb out-lasting my microphones. :(
