Howyadoin,

My Alesis Studio32 mixing board has phantom power, but it is a all-or-none kind of thing. I have two condensor mics for drum overheads, there are 5 other dynamics on the snare, toms, etc., and a converted speaker in front of the kick drum..

Will it affect my dynamic mics if I turn on the board's global phantom power to run my condensors? I know I shouldn't plug any mics in or out while phantom power is on, but will phantom power have any negative impact on the sensitivity, range, and quality of the dynamics? How about the speaker mic? I can get separate power supplies to provide phantom power to each of the overheads, but I'd rather spend the money on something else if i can avoid it...

Thanks,

I've got a Studio32 and run condensers and dynamics together with the global phantom power engaged and haven't experienced a problem yet.
