sfirst of all im a newbie at cubase

now i got recording and everythign fine...exept i cant rigure this out..when i double click on a wave file...it blows it up into the single wav file where it is easyer to minipulate it...which is great and all exept the audition button doesnt work..so the only way to play is by the play button in the transporter...and thats annoying because in orderr to move to a diff place i cant just click i have to go to multiview...

also when i try to use plugins..the preview button doesnt work...im sure these are just difficulties that i need to iron out but they are really frustrating me right now..lol

the SPACE bar will stop/playback at where the marker lies. :)

You are in the sample editor window when you do this. In the upper left corner of that window you'll see a little speaker. Click on it and then just left click and hold in the sample editor window at the spot you want to audition.

Then go back and read the getting started manual again, it's worth it.

hmm that works soemtimes..but sometimes it doesnt..i dont know why..im tryin to mess with it..but i cant get it to work right now..but it was working earlyer..i dunno

Yeah, it happens to me too sometimes, specially when the cursor has moved towards the end. For some reason Cubase gets confused and wants to play from the last point when it was stopped even when you move the cursor to the beginning. To make it play consistently, press Ctrl+A (select all), and turn on looping. Works for me. Oh, and make really close friends with the help menu. It's very well done. In fact it's the searchable version of the manual.
