i know i'm not a great singer, but i'm working on it,. i'm definitely better than i was a year ago, you people would puke if you heard me sing back then,(as opposed to gagging now) but anyway, if you get time just give it a listen and let me know what i can work on. the song was recorded on a x-12 fostex 4 track then sent to cool edit pro, i had to use a mono jack to send it to the computer because i have no rca jacks for my sound card, so i lost the pan function, which i had tinkered with and made some really cool sounds on the master tape,

Hello,

Listened to your song. Could be a good rocksong I think. But your voice is not very cool I think. On some parts it is though. Listen to "tell me when he.." (0:29 -0:31)>>on this part your voice is cool.

Not bad at all ( no puke )...you have an idea for sure. Your being a bit hard on yourself with vocals, just sing with some records you dig even just hum with them to get a better feel of your range...and to get what's in your range stable. Plus...try tracking your vocals through some of your guitar effects, not to cover you voice...only to enhance it. Then hell if you want...run the entire mix through your effects ":)

As for mono...use are RCA to minijack adapter, so you will still have your stereo pans. The "buzz" on your recording can be almost completely resolved just by rolling back the high EQs a bit.

Back to back posts from me ":P...anyhow. Put a random bass line on your song ( line is random and yours if you like parts of it ), also killed a bit of the buzz, and gave it a bit of stereo life ( not RCA stereo Elvis record life < if you know you know if not you dont > ).

Got the song in MP3 form and will send it out to ya after I get your addy...

i agree and disagree. your voice has a good quality to it, that with a bit more practice could really be good. id suggest less 'legato' notes in your voice.

with some work with the mix (quite alot to be frank) you'll have a good song, possibly even a great one. so - song = good, mix = not so good, voice = keep at it,its cool

cheers

Im just about to send it off to him ( doing that now )...and Im thinking he wouldnt have a problem sending your way. Just ill let him get it to you...kinda like a music chain letter ":)

PS sorry took me some time to post back, been out some.

vox isn't bad, just needs better performance. and you're getting mic pops, also timing is off, drum machine or drummer may fill out sound too
