What do you think.... I just picked it up new in the box.

I was planning on replacing my old Darla card because I am going Windows XP sometime in the next few days. I stopped at GC and they had a number of soundcards (including another Darla at 150 bucks!) all of which I am unfamiliar with.

I know the Echo product so I bought the Gina24 because it seemed like such a great price to pass up. Did I do good?

I have a

1.5 gig AMD
516 DDR mem
40 gig HD
220 mhrz front/back bus
SB Live

W/ Sonar

Running to a

Mackey 1402vlz
Yamaha PSR530
Event PS6 (2)
Alesis NanoVerb
Shure SM57

Used mainly for audio recording: My vocals; books on CD; "radio" type shows and backup trax for my performances.

Would like to integrate my computer into my mixer and use my PS6's in conjunction with my Altec speaker system. Is this possible?

Do you think it will work? (duh, of course it will work but well?)

Is there a better product for my needs?

I appreciate any input.

I found your very long but informative thread from about a year ago. You were in the death throes of what to purchase.

Did you buy a Gina?

You seem to be happy with it if you did....or wish you did anyway:(

You also seemed to have the same idea for use in mind. Vocals with the occasional instrumental recording.

does it work well? and what OS do you have it on?

Take the $150 you saved and buy some cables to provide a sweet input circuit.

One pair for each type of output you've got.

I needed a 1/4" to 1/4" , an RCA to 1/4", and a coax S/PDIF to set up my inputs.

I think they went to balanced TRS for the analog I/O with the GINA 24. Is that correct?

I've got the old GINA and she's still rocking the house.

nah

i have the omni studio, which is soooo damned good. Well, i've only heard about the gina, but from what i've read and heard, it's great.

It was my 2nd choice after a few m-audio products.

yea that thread is very informative.

Hi all,
:)
I'm a user of Echo GINA 24 and have been a satisfied user since I first owned my first GINA 20 in '98 and I'm glad to say that I've always gotten consistent high performance from this audio card.
