LOL! I thought this would be ZZ Top :-)

The Rocky Horror vocals seem to fit. Drums sounds pretty good, and the whole mix to me.

Heh...I don't think I've heard one of yours in a while. I enjoyed it. The vocals actually reminded me of late-era talking heads David Bryne a bit. Actually a lot of the melodies do too.

Despite that comparison, it still sounds very uniquely yours.

I think I agree with johny on the kick though...just a bit...

I like this. Really original and great, quirky vocals. I'm getting a bit too much kick, maybe. Otherwise, sounds nice to me.

hey thanks jonny, I read the link to Rocky Horror. I have heard of the movie but I'm sure I have never seen it. It must have a flasetto part in it somewhere.
Yeah I ony have heard this thru headphones so I'm not surprosed the kick is too loud. Those Reason samples kick ass.

Thanks heatmiser. I put this up just to let you know I was not dead - ha ha. No really. This one just came out of nowhere, and I like that last part, so I figured I'd run it thru the mill.

It’s four parts recorded over four days. I’m not paying attention to form anymore. I’m just happy to get from point A to point B somehow without too much derision.

Short and sweet. :) For some reason it reminds me of Roy Orbison, but I'm not sure why.... your voice doesn't sound like his, I could just easily picture him singing a song like this (not now obviously).

I don't know, the kick doesn't sound too bad to me....it's a little slap/clicky....something I'd expect more in much heavier music...maybe pull the mic back or try some different samples if you're using software. I really like the bass playing. The rhythm section in general seems pretty tight.

I like the key change at the end. Thanks for sharing!

Great to hear you're still alive and kicking Manslick. Enjoyed the listen, the melody is good, fun and recognisably yours though I can also hear Heat's David Byrne comparison. The change in the last section works really well.

The only thing I wasn't mad keen on was the sound of the drums, which sounded a little overly quantized and the kick which sounds clicky and lacking in low end thump.

Please keep checking in sir

Thanks for the spin fat_feet. I obviously don't try to match drum sounds to style, I go for groove. I suppose I could change the sample as I am using the Dr. Octo Rex loop player in Reason, so there's probably no end to what's available.
Yeah that key change had me stumped for a week and then one night after about a billion listens - it was there.
One thing I have learned over the years, for me, making music is like fishing. If I am not at the water, I catch no fish. I don't wake up with new songs in my head, I usually wake up with this one or which ever one has me obsessed at the time. I have to be in the chair, guitar in hand, for the song to come. Lyrics are different, they come when ever, like these ones, that came a second before I breathed them.
Thanks for the kind comments.

Hey Rob, yeah the drums are a loop player. Meh - they work okay me thinks.

I'll have to check out this David Byrne.

I was hoping you would drop in. He he, I was thinking of you when I sang the words 'floating down'. That's my best English phraseology. Too much Kentucky droll? You don't have to answer that.

Hey congrats on your marriage and good luck.

Thanks bud.
