have anybody worked with GigaStudio-software?.Gerry Zaragemca.

I played with it a bit. It seems powerful. It's basically a MIDI instrument that you load huge sampled sound files into. Then you can play it with some kind of controller or sequencer.

I'm not sure how the new version works,but the old versions did'nt play nice with Cakewalk.
Hardcore Giga users usually have a seperate machine just to run it on.
Gigastudio sounds great,but most other samplers have closed the gap.I have Kompakt,which is the little brother to Kontakt and I'm very happy with it.

The first thing you need to figure out is if your computer can handle a decent sampler,and if the sampler is compatible to your host program,be it a VSTi or DXi,or whatever.

In the end it's mostly the sample you use rather than the program you use in in.

BTW,I have the old Gigasampler and Gigastudio32,and neither is installed on my DAW.

i got a copy of giga with my tascam fw-1884 and it crashed whenever i tried to use it. so, tascam sent me a new copy that's supposed to work on XP, but that crashes too.

I had the same problem - if it didn't crash while running, it would lock up my system when exiting Sonar. I gave it up as a bad job and haven't used it since. Too bad, I would like to see how the gigapiano would work in my mixes. Oh, well, another purchase I regret

If you want to get Giga to work with Sonar,you must choose Sonar as the sequencer from within the Giga menus,open Giga first and then launch Sonar from within Giga.

I would like to see how the gigapiano would work in my mixes.

Giga files can be read by other samplers,I have Gigapiano working in Kompakt.
