that doesnt help me know which one is better out of the two...i dont have a "guitar center" around here, no place has the lp vintage mahogany that i am aware of
Guitars aren't shovels

- there's no way to *really* know which one is better for a person without playing it by this very person and then letting this very person speak.
You can get an "advice" (about which guitar is "better") from a person with limited experience of playing various guitars ...and well, that may make you feel like
it "does" help you to know. But any experienced guitar player will tell you, that even the same brand/model/year guitars are not the same.
If there's absolutely no chance for you to go to some store to try many different guitars, then you can do:
a. Order VM from retailer that have 30day return/no question asked policy. Try it at home, if you feels right for you, then just be happy with it.
or
b. If buying Studio you'll get color choice

, so you already gonna
love the look of it - that's a big move

on the way to completely falling in love with the guitar

, but then after you get it shipped and play-try it - it will be the same 'deal' as with VM .
If you can spend $1,200 ..or what ever Studios are going nowdays...then just buy one and LOVE it. They are great guitar generally speaking. Just , again, make sure you have some return policy where ever you buy it from... cos you simply never know what you may find in the UPS-box ....
good luck
