getting volumes constant... HELP!

I'm having trouble, mainly with snare drum, getting a good constant overall volume. I would like to make all the snare hits very close in volume regardless of how hard they are hit. I tried compression because I thought that would help it, and it might I'm just not doing it right obviously.

Any help would be a great relief

Perhaps you could just trigger some samples?

thanks for the reply. i was already triggering the snare using drumagog. I just had to turn down the dynamic tracking. i got it now.
