Getting Rid of Wind?

Hey all...
So I went and recorded an outside show with a camcorder, and silly me, forgot to account for wind. I'm editing in Vegas Video, and the wind actually appears to occur mainly in the left-hand channel, but changing the pan doesn't get rid of the wind. Is there anything I can do at this point to at least reduce the sound of the wind? (for instance, change the eq? or is wind mainly white noise?)

Any help would be uber-appreciated.

Depends

on the frequency. if it is high then filtering will take care of it but if it shares the frequencies with the sound you have recorded then filtering will affect that sound too. The best unit I have come across that removes ambience, mainly reverbs, is the SPL Transient Designer(£200) , hire one for the day and suck the sound dry.

Just mute the left channel and pan the right channel to center.

Yo Quasi:

Don't eat BEANS before recording.

Dam, I couldn't resist.

Green Hornet :p  :p

Thanks all!
I cut down on the low EQ and it did pretty well. Of course, it affected the sound quite a bit, but the overall sound is much more bearable. It's more of an amateur piece anyway, so no biggie.

Oh, and Hornet: I don't think it was the beans that was the real problem; it was that I had stuck the microphone so far up my ass! :)

Thanks again folks...
