I searched for newmusicgirl and didn't find the mc012s.

They are also listed as mk012 sometimes. It's the same mic.

$175 for two Oktava MC012s. Is that a good price? I bought the AKG D112. If $175 is good, all that's left is C1 and SM57s.

I paid $159 for the D112, by the way. I was thinking, I'm also going to need stands. Anyone know where to get them or what kind to get? I would like to have most of this stuff ordered before Tuesday.

I would call your closest Guitar Center on Monday and see what kind of price they would give you on the Oktavas and if they'll ship them to you. You *do* realize you are going to need phantom power for these, right?

As far as stands, I would definitely get tri-pod boom stands for your overheads and also for any LD condensers that you end up getting.

These better? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2553736131&category=3278

What about the AKG D112? Would that go on one of these, too?

Jeez. Who can tell? I would probably feel more comfortable getting mic stands from somebody like musiciansfriend rather than people that hawk these generic 'professional' things on ebay.

I would probably go for something like this for the kick mic:

These eBay ones are starting to really suck. I can't tell the difference, and I don't think I'll need 6. I can't think of a local place that would have very many of these in stock. I might just end up getting the ones from the first auction. Our goal is to be ready to record by Friday.

Just as an FYI: that guy on ebay used the same exact picture for both stands.

You know, Radio Shacks can come in handy for these sort of things sometimes too.

I was thinking about Radio Shack, but I didn't think they had boom stands, just the straight ones.

Below is the 2nd set (12 total) I bought from this eBay seller.

Mic Stands with Bag

They are On-Stage boom mics, and came with a nice bag. With shipping it works out to $23 per stand. I couldn't come close to this price at my local GC, and could not get the carry bag either.

My mic locker is
(8) SM57
(2) SM58
(2) ATM25
(1) AT4040
(2) Ancient Radio Shack SM81 clones

I called Guitar Center today. They have the Oktava MK012s for $99, but they'll price match to the guy on eBay for $80. That's the best deal I found so far. The only other good place is eBay and with shipping, they are at least $85. I will probably go get them tomorrow. I still need a C1 and SM57s, and stands.

Guitar Center should sell you Oktava MK012's for $50 each their new flyer(not just a local flyer) has the sale listed.

If they give you crap about it I can scan it and email it to you.

Here is the Flyer I did not have a chance to scan it yet but I took a pic with my digital camera.

Its hard to read but in the bottom right corner it says September 2003. Just so your local GC knows it is a current ad point this out.
