I installed Absynth 4 and the other software from the Komplete Synths box on my laptop and it works OK but the audio & playing ability is definitely not great. There is static in many of the sounds as you quit playing and very high latency (92-300 ms). I attempted to run at a lower sample rate than 44100 like 24100 or even on the lowest rate. If I lower the latency this just crashes my system I must've rebooted by pulling out the battery at least 10 times last night before eventually giving up.
My system meets/exceeds the requirements by the software, I have no other software installed and I have 4x the amount of RAM needed. If it is the sound card (factory card) who is the offender which sound card would you guys suggest for a laptop? The manual mentions specific drivers ASIO for sound cards, how do you know which cards use the "right" soudn card drivers? Can I bring the laptop to a computer fix it shop and hire them to "make it work with the software" and pay them to get it working? Will they do this? Has anyone else done this to get MIDI working properly on their computer. I'm open to any input on what to do since I'm in the hole for all this stuff anyway (unreturnable) I may as well get it working. Thanks for any info you guys may have!
