Getting a cool "dry" sound...

for rock vocals (or even intruments) whats the best ways to get a little more interesting sound out of a dry recording while still having the same "dry" qualities? Im just trying to stay away from noticible reverb and echo if you know what i mean.
 
Keep the reverb amount around 3-4% wet. Not having *any* reveb on a vocal usually sounds stupid and/or wrong. Have a little bit, just keep it low. Also, try 800-900ms of reverb time rather than 1700-2000ms.

Keep it short and keep it low in the mix.

The further in the background you want something to appear, the more reverb it should get... to say perhaps a max of 7%.
