Hi, Im trying to get a good guitar sound when recording to my computer.

My basic playing gear is:
- My Stratocaster Guitar
- a Marshall Jackhammer JH-1 distortion pedal
- Marshall ED-1 Compressor
- A Peavey Rage 108 AMP made in USA.
- An old TASCAM ministudio I use as a mixer. I plug my guitar there, and then it goes to the sound card:
- Genius Sound Maker Value 5.1 Sound Card
I play Metal/Death Metal/Death Core styles.
I really like the sound i get when playing live. My problem is that i cant get the same sound when recording...

Basic settings:
- Distortion Pedal:
- Mode: Overdrive
- Gain: All the way
- Bass: 1 o'clock
- Treble: 11 o'clock
- Freq: 10 o'clock
- Contour: 1 o'clock
- Compressor:
- Emphasis: 1 o'clock
- Volume: 12 o'clock
- Attack: 11 o'clock
- Compression: 11 o'clock

My AMP is on "clean" mode, and all the EQ are on 12 o'clock (The real EQ comes from the pedals)

The live sound is great, but the recording's not.
I dont get the same sound i get live. Ive tried using the OUT jack of the AMP; also tried using only the pedals.

A few weeks ago my ZOOM G2 multi-effects didnt worked anymore (had some problems that couldnt get fixed in its motherboard).
That Zoom had a "Cabinet" effect that I used to record with my Computer.
When I used that cabinet effect, the sound quality when recording was just the same that I used live.
That effect make it sound great.

Is there any way to get something similiar to the cabinet effect?
What's the theory of the Cabinet effect?
Any suggestions, advices?
Thanx!

easy, you have more bass than treble.

Turn down the bass when you record...in fact, you may want to turn down distortion a bit as well. It may not sound as good as you're sitting there, but it'll record much, much better.
