I saw George Lynch last night, and was talking to him after the show...
He used a '59 Fender Esquire for a third of his set, through an old Marshall Plexi... He loved that axe.. it was a gift...

He asked me what I thought of the tone, and I told him I liked his tone w/ the Les Paul's a helluva lot better... I don't think he was happy about that, but I was being honest. (I saw NOT A SINGLE endorsed piece of gear w/ hime... except the Keeley pedals...)

In his favor, he is a mother-fucker live.... that man can PLAY (w/ a capital "P") !!! Mr. Scary indeed....

oddly, for a un-glam rock post punk fan, Lynch was my fav. DeMartini I liked too. the Vai's and many others didn't have the tasty quality of Lynch.

His choice of notes and phrasing is very unique, and "somewhat spooky"... ;)

And his tone.... OMG!!!! (w/ the humbuckers)

He's freaky good....

I saw george lynch live a couple of times in the 80's with dokken. He was a bad mofo...he had a really BIG tone, and tons of sustain.

I love George too, but im pissed at his last DVD release which is Lynch Mob live. Really bad camera angles and camera people that would put the camera on the bass player during georges solos. then to top it off, the sound track was obviously a different show than the video.

the singer looked like he was lip sinking, and georges fingers were not matching what I was hearing. there would be a cymbol crash, and the drummer would still be playing just the normal groove.

I cant believe they released that. of course no one will give me my money back since it is opened.

bumber man. i feel like cying all over again.
