no I am saying graphic designers use multiple programs (swithcing between them quickly) I have 2 PC's and a mac Photoshop by itself runs fast on the PC but when I haver my other programs open (usually Photoshop, Illustrator, PageMaker and Acrobat) the PC gets boged down and is no longer faster then my mac.

Ok...

How is blatently lying about G5 performance specs and charging outrageous prices for hardware and software helping the design community?

You can build a top of the line pc for under a grand if you have some parts already.

Best motherboard 200
Best memory, gig pc3200 200
Very Fast Processor, ie p4 3.2 150

bare fat system is 550 for the fastest shit on the market almost

psu and case, or you might already have this 0-400 depends on what you want really

printer, cd burners, keyboards, mouses all that shit lasts 5 years
100, 50 on sale, 50 comfortable 50 for nicest mouse
250 for this crap, if you don't have it already
so once you have it you don't need to buy it anyways.

moniters.... I have two that I got for free almost from liquidation.
They last forever, what 10-15 years? Maybe 20?
0-400

so minium if you have all your shit is like 550, with nothing else you need about 1600. That is for the best crap you can by period. Oh windows xp pro is like 30 bucks if you are student from microsofts software website.

You forgot to add, "charging $129 a year for OS updates and then subsequently releasing software that 'requires' the latest OS version" to your list.

ive just read some messages on the web and received info from a US user about amd dual opterons and the new AMD64fx. no contest.
the amd chips are showing significant performance increases. if you think i'm lying apparently on the cakewalk site are some performance comparisons.
