I'm just glad this isn't a contest based on "likes". If that were the case, it would be a matter of he with the most "friends" wins.

Well I hope I can get a 'dumb ass' pass but I completely overlooked that there were rules in the download folder. My first mix was 'arranged' and well, this one is not.

 
My mix is up, should anyone feel inclined to have a listen... go on, you know you want to... ;-)

Kinda dumb if you ask me, seeing as this is the official thread for the contest and there must be lots of new members signing-up on the back of this. Anyway, you know how to get there... Well I'm new also and it took a few minutes to figure it out but when you post click the 'Go Advanced' button and then the Soundcloud button appears where you can insert your soundcloud audio. Give it a try.
 
I can listen to good music day and night I can dig it night and day, I can dig it BAybay!

Did you try the SoundCloud link under the Advanced menu? I ask because a new member SHOULD be able to post a link and/or use the SoundCloud icon.
 
gearfest mixing contest

Hi Guys,

First post here... I have also been busting my head with this competition and today I finally decided to put down the tools and upload my final product... Enjoy!

 
I took the dive in again and did some restructuring. Essentially the same mix but tweaked ever so slightly.

Man, we all believe in us, we all think we gave the best of us, we all like our mixes and think it has a chance to be picked. Otherwise we wouldn't post it here and say "please listen to my mix!". We are proud of our work and we want the world to enjoy it!

And by the way I think your mix has good chances to be picked. So have others too. So good luck people!

Hi All,
Just another newbie here... not new to DAWs or recording, but new to this forum and to Soundcloud (only one other track).

So here's my question - in the contest instructions we're supposed to use the Add to Group button to link our mixes to the contest page. Since the only Add to Group button I see is on my personal Soundcloud page, I'm assuming that's what I use? I only ask because I tried that and when clicking on "GearFest Mixing Contest" nothing seemed to happen, and my mix isn't on the contest page. So I'm not really sure if I'm doing the right thing...

TIA for any information that might help. I'm looking forward to making my way around HomeRecording.com - it's been a while since I've been this new at something. :D
