Gear lust !

good tune and mix.. I didn't really pay attention to the lyrics, but I liked it as a whole.. good vocals.. I have no suggestions or major complaints that wouldn't be just preference.. good melody, and pretty clean sound.. not sure if I heard any timing mistakes, but maybe a few 'very minor' drum clams.. when I say very minor, I mean, pretend I didn't mention it, but maybe keep it in mind for the future.. good listen all the way around!

Thanks B.SABBATH for listening. Not too many complaints on this song ? so I must be doing something right.

I didn't get to re-mix the drums last night ... sometime soon. Unfortunately I also have to go fault hunting sometime.... I have a reel full of mic cables I need to test before sunday... party time :(

If it took 4 tracks to get that acoustic sound, then it was worth it! real nice stereo spread.......Oh, and a very cool tune to boot. Got me playin' air bass too!

Twist

hmmmm. this is good stuff dres. pretty tight. if there are any timing problems i'm hearing it in the bass guitar i think. i really like the acoustic guitar on this one.

vocals are a little back in the mix at the beginning and overall your voice isn't really cutting throught the mix as much as i might like. i don't know what i'd do differently and i really enjoyed this so as cyanjaguar says......funk on!

btw, i think the v-drums are going. sorry :(. i miss playing real drums too much.

twist / CyanJaguar / erichenryus : Thanks for listening ... I'm still enjoying this song even after many listens so I'm going to leave this one alone ... at least for a while. Already on another project with chrisharris (stay tuned).

erichenryus: well if your gonna sell the V-Drums maybe consider keeping the "brain" ... can be triggered with acoustic drums remember ... worth considering. I think I'll be playing mine in the grave .. but I never did play "real drums"

Uh-huh, I'm feelin' this hard boy-ee!!!(I'm listening while posting) Contrary to some, bass has got my attention! Vocals ridin' nice with just a tad more gain for definition! Git's there man, it's there!!!!! (Hed still boppin'!!!). See ya' gettin' the most outta' the kit. Uh-huh,Uh-huh! Mannn, I'm flowin'!!! Yeah,Uh-huh,Uh-huh...tighten the snare some! BASS-BASS-BASS!!!! Bottom hittin'
me real nice!!.............

That was a good one dres!!!

man this thread has a life of it's own ! No really I'm thoroughly encouraged by the amount of positive feedback.... I think the secret is to enjoy what your doing right ?

mixmkr / MISTERQCUE thanks for listening ... enjoy fellas

we should have a contest for the best scat singing along with this ? .. doing the scat style "mouth" drum stuff at the end was totally childish and fun for me... ;)

Very nice recording. Everything is clean and well balanced. Must have been hard to play for 4:00. :)

The vocal seemed to bounce around a bit in the stereo field a few times. I'm assuming it was doubled, and at times one vocal was slightly dominant over the other, which made it sound like it came from the left or right. It was a little disconcerting, like the singer had moved. Don't know if you were going for this effect or not. If not, you might want to pan them closer to center. Then again, I could be all wet.

Nice work overall!

Trust me it was the most exhasting song I've ever recorded ! Esp the drums ... I played for about 2.5 hrs straight trying to get it right. It's summer here and I have a ventillation problem with my studio ... it hovers around 28 deg C on a hot day. I was sweating like a pig.

Thanks for the suggestions on the panning. Yes the vocals were doubled ... I'll look into it .. thanks

fenderlikingood: Thanks .. tight enough I think.
